Straight Gaffs are the most common End Game tool for most offshore species.   From Mahi to large Tuna the straight gaff is one of the best options.   The most common Gaff is the Aftco Taper Tip aluminum gaff.   The taper tip cuts down the resistance in the water and the aluminum is light and strong.   Some choose the more expensive carbon fiber or fiberglass gaffs.   Both have pros and cons, but one of the most common pro is the ability for customization of the grips and color schemes.
