False Albacore

Advancements in soft plastics, braided line, and resin jigs have changed the face of Albie lures in the last decade. Epoxy Jigs and Albies Snax remain two of the most commonly used baits. 10 to 20lb Braided line in 8 – 10 carrier combinations are most desirable. Power Pro and Sufix 832 are two of our most popular brands.  Fluorocarbon leader is almost a must!   Rods are usually fast taper high modulus blanks, thus making them light, flexible and capable of throwing light epoxies and unweighted plastics.    G.Loomis Greenwater and E6X, Shimano Teramar XXX, and St.Croix are our bestselling series of rods.   These rods are usually paired with 3k to 5k size reels.  Weight and ergonomics are usually the main focus of the discriminating Albie anglers.    The Shimano Stradic is by far our most popular Albie reel at a reasonable price.
