Shipping policy

J&B Tackle ships using whatever service gets your order to you reliably and on time. Here's exactly how it works.

Order Cutoff & Processing

Our cutoff is 2:00 PM Eastern. Orders placed before 2:00 PM ET ship the same business day, as long as everything in the order is in stock. Orders placed after 2:00 PM ET ship the next business day.

Our business days are Monday through Saturday (holidays excluded). An order placed Saturday afternoon after the cutoff, for example, won't be processed until the following Monday.

Free Shipping

Free standard shipping starts at $99. Place an order of $99 or more and we cover standard shipping to any of the 62 US destinations we serve.

Oversized items are the one exception. Anything over 36 inches in length, fishing rods included, ships free at $140 or more instead of $99. The higher threshold covers the real cost of moving long, bulky packages, which carriers bill by dimensional weight rather than actual weight.

Where We Ship

We ship to all 50 states plus US territories and APO/FPO military addresses, 62 destinations in total. The free shipping thresholds above apply everywhere we ship, with no surcharge for Alaska, Hawaii, or anywhere else on the list.

We do not ship internationally at this time.

Restricted Items & Prop 65 Warning

State law prohibits us from shipping certain lead fishing tackle into the following states:

• Maine: lead sinkers 1 oz. or less, or under 2.5 inches

• Massachusetts: lead sinkers 1 oz. or less, and lead jigs under 1 oz.

• New Hampshire: lead sinkers 1 oz. or less, and lead jigs under 1 inch

• New York: lead sinkers 1/2 oz. or less

• Vermont: lead sinkers 1/2 oz. or less

If you order an item that can't ship to your state, we'll reach out before processing the rest of your order.

California Proposition 65 Warning: Cancer and Reproductive Harm. See www.P65Warnings.ca.gov. Many products made for the fishing industry carry a Prop 65 warning label. These products contain lead parts, coatings, greases, or oils that the State of California considers capable of causing cancer and/or reproductive harm. See P65Warnings.ca.gov for more information.

Carriers

We ship with USPS and UPS, and occasionally FedEx, chosen at our discretion based on the package and destination. We can't honor requests for a specific carrier on standard or free shipping.

Once a package is handed to the carrier, delivery timing is in their hands, not ours. We're not responsible for carrier delays, and that applies to expedited shipments too. Paying for a faster method buys a faster service level, not a guarantee.

Expedited & Premium Shipping

We offer premium and expedited options at checkout. The same cutoff applies: place an expedited order before 2:00 PM ET and it ships the same business day; after 2:00 PM ET, it ships the next business day. As above, transit time once it leaves us is up to the carrier.

Manufacturer-Direct Items

Some products ship directly from the manufacturer rather than from our warehouse. These typically take 5 to 8 days to arrive. That timing is set by the manufacturer and is outside our control, so plan accordingly if you need an item quickly.

In-Store Pickup - Niantic, CT

Pickup is available at our Niantic location for any item that's in stock there. If something in your order isn't stocked at Niantic, it isn't eligible for pickup at that location. Wait for confirmation that your order is ready before heading in.
