The Strategic Angler Frantic Series is a versatile subsurface lure inspired by the profiles of sardines and ballyhoo, two important forage species for predatory gamefish. Measuring 8.25 inches and weighing approximately 85 to 95 grams, the Frantic is designed to maintain a horizontal orientation while slow sinking or suspending depending on hook configuration. During a steady retrieve, the lure produces an alternating side-to-side wobble and swimming action, while increased retrieve speed creates a tighter, more aggressive vibration that imitates a baitfish attempting to escape a predator.

The Frantic can be fished with several retrieve styles to adapt to different species and conditions. A medium retrieve produces a natural subsurface swim, while faster retrieves create frantic vibration for covering water and targeting fast-moving predators such as bluefish, king mackerel, and barracuda. Sweeping the rod followed by a pause creates a dive-and-roll action that resembles stunned forage, while short twitches and pauses produce an erratic injured-baitfish presentation. Multiple treble and single-hook configurations can be used to adjust sink rate, current performance, and trolling applications, including slow trolling at speeds up to 4 knots.
