The Penn Slammer IV Spinning Reels are built as rugged saltwater workhorses for anglers who need dependable power, sealing, and drag performance in demanding inshore and offshore conditions. A Full Metal Body and sideplate provide a rigid platform under heavy loads, while CNC Gear Technology with an all-brass main gear delivers the strength and durability needed for hard-fighting gamefish. An IPX6-sealed body and spool provide added protection against saltwater and spray during rough conditions.

The Slammer IV also features a redesigned, bearing-supported drag system that provides a wider usable drag range with smooth, consistent pressure. Sizes 3500 through 10500 use a sealed Slammer drag system with Dura-Drag washers, while the compact 2500 uses HT-100 carbon fiber drag washers. An 8+1 stainless steel bearing system and Hydrophobic Line Roller Bearing further improve smoothness and reliability, with automatic bail trip on sizes 2500-5500 and manual bail trip on the larger 6500-10500 models.
