Nomad Design Gypsea Jig
The Nomad Design Gypsea Jig is a back-slide metal jig designed for slow to medium-speed jigging presentations from shallow reefs to deeper offshore water. Its traditional teardrop profile produces sharp directional changes and a kicking action on the lift before transitioning into an aggressive back-slide on the fall. The slower, controlled sink rate keeps the jig in the strike zone longer, making it effective for slow-pitch techniques, longer lifts, and presentations where fish are responding to movement during the drop.
The Gypsea can be worked close to the bottom around reefs and rocky structure for snapper and grouper or jigged through midwater schools for yellowtail, amberjack, tuna, and other pelagic species. Its responsive action provides substantial movement without requiring an aggressive high-speed retrieve, allowing the jig to cover a range of depths and conditions. Each size comes rigged with appropriately matched heavy-duty BKK assist hooks for a ready-to-fish setup.
