Avet JX 3/S WINCH Lever Drag Jigging Reels

The Avet JX3/S Winch 3-Speed Lever Drag Reel was purpose-built for heavy-drag jigging applications where compact size and serious stopping power are essential. Developed after an offshore trip to Panama highlighted the need for a JX-size reel capable of handling powerful yellowfin tuna, the Winch features Avet’s patented triple carbon-fiber drag system, producing an impressive 45 lb of drag at strike and up to 70 lb at full. Its three-speed gearbox provides a 6:1 high gear for quickly recovering line, a versatile 3:1 middle gear, and a powerful 2:1 low "winch" gear for gaining line against stubborn fish under extreme drag pressure.

Designed specifically for jigging tuna and other hard-fighting offshore species, the JX3/S Winch eliminates unnecessary casting-oriented components such as the clicker and MC cast-control system while adding Avet’s larger T-knob power handle for increased leverage. The reel is built around a true one-piece 6061-T6 aluminum frame that is precision machined and anodized in Chatsworth, California, and is complemented by precision stainless steel gears, a ratcheting glide plate and strike-stop system, and Avet’s durable dog-and-gear anti-reverse. Rated for 50–100 lb line and weighing just 28 oz, the Winch combines approximately 300 yards of 100 lb braid capacity with the drag output and low-gear cranking power needed for deep jigging and battles with oversized tuna.
