The Lee's Tackle Heavy Duty Swivel Rod Holders in Standard Length are designed for heavy offshore applications where high drag pressure and substantial side loads are placed on the rod and holder. Primarily intended for bent-butt tackle, the swivel base allows the rod butt to rotate as side pressure is applied to the rod tip. This allows the rod to follow the direction of the fish, helping keep the fishing line properly aligned with the roller tip while reducing stress on the rod holder pin during demanding fights with giant bluefin tuna and other powerful gamefish.

When used with straight-butt rods, the swivel base functions as a conventional rod holder while still allowing the rod to be rotated manually for proper line alignment. Swivel resistance can be adjusted using two nylon drag washers and a 1/2-inch lock nut located at the bottom of the holder, allowing the amount of rotational resistance to be tailored to the setup. The standard-length configuration features a 2-1/4-inch outside diameter and a 10-1/2-inch tube.
