When engaged, the Baitrunner system allows a fish to take line under light, controlled resistance while the bail remains closed. Turning the handle disengages the system and transfers control to the reel's primary drag, providing a smooth transition from presenting a live bait to fighting the fish.
Shimano's Propulsion Line Management System and Varispeed Oscillation work together to promote consistent line lay and efficient casting, while an oversized Power Roller helps manage line as it enters the spool.
