Carlson Ultimate Trolling Birds

The Carlson Ultimate Trolling Bird is a 12-inch offshore teaser based on John Carlson's original wooden trolling bird design that became popular among Northeast canyon fishermen. Built from high-impact plastic with a heavy-duty stainless steel thru-wire, the Ultimate Bird is designed to create aggressive surface commotion while maintaining stable tracking at trolling speeds. A 6 1/2-inch aluminum rudder is precisely angled to produce splash, wobble, and disturbance across the surface, helping simulate feeding activity that can draw tuna and other pelagic gamefish into the trolling spread.

An internal belly weight helps keep the bird balanced and tracking properly, while the heavy-duty connection hardware is built for demanding offshore use. Each bird includes a 350 lb AFW double ball bearing snap swivel for a strong, smooth-running connection. The Ultimate Trolling Bird can be fished as a standalone teaser or positioned ahead of a rigged ballyhoo or other trolling presentation, and the body is pre-drilled for conversion into a bird bar setup.
