The addition of Makaira Thrust Bearings helps reduce side load at high drag settings, allowing the reel to maintain smooth performance while delivering the stopping power needed for tuna, billfish, and other hard-fighting offshore species.

Designed for demanding offshore techniques including trolling, chunking, and deep dropping, the Alijos features Okuma's Dual Force Drag system with oversized drag plates for increased drag pressure and consistent performance throughout the fight. Oil-bathed spool bearings maximize free spool and casting performance, while the redesigned two-speed shifting system delivers fast, reliable gear changes under load.
