When the Baitrunner system is engaged, the secondary drag provides controlled line release while a bait is being carried or taken. Turning the handle disengages the Baitrunner system and transfers control to the main drag, making the reel well suited for circle-hook presentations and species such as striped bass, redfish, snook, tarpon, and mahi-mahi.
