Daiwa Tanacom Power Assist Electric Reels
The Daiwa Tanacom Power Assist Electric Reels combine electric retrieval capability with compact designs suited to deep-drop fishing and other demanding offshore applications. Models such as the Tanacom 500 and 750 are smaller and lighter than many traditional electric reels, allowing them to be comfortably fished in hand for stand-up applications rather than remaining exclusively in a rod holder. Their ability to accommodate lighter line makes them particularly well suited to targeting tilefish, cod, halibut, lingcod, and other deepwater species, while the platform can also be used for light kite-fishing applications.
A rigid aluminum frame provides a stable foundation under heavy sinker loads, while variable-speed control allows retrieval speed to be adjusted throughout operation. The power-assist system can retrieve heavy rigs from depth while still allowing fish to be fought manually with the handle, combining conventional reel control with the convenience of powered retrieval. English-language controls and a rugged power cord provide straightforward operation, while model-specific bearing and drag systems deliver the strength and smoothness required for deepwater fishing.
