Offshore Report
The canyons are heating up, with West Atlantis showing strong signs of life. Yellowfin tuna up to 70 pounds have been spotted in the Dip. Still nothing inshore yet for the bluefin, but there’s a lot of bait around the Ranger, so something should show up soon.
Inshore Action
The inshore forecast looks great through the weekend. Porgies have moved in and are a perfect target if you’re bringing the kids out. Try Bartlett’s Reef for some family-friendly action. For bigger fish, check out the deeper, rocky spots around Race Rock. There’s also potential to see bass and porgies during slack tide in the Race. The bass bite has been consistent, but the recent heat has slowed things down a bit. Early mornings and evenings are your best bet.
Block Island Bite
Block Island is producing great numbers. Big fish are hitting soft plastics and live eels, and bluefish are starting to show up. With good weather on tap, this is a great week to get out and fish.
