The innovation of braided line has been one of the single greatest improvements in fishing tackle.  Braided line was the driving force behind rod, reel and tackle innovations we have seen in the last 10-15 years.  The small diameter has opened the door for new fisheries, with smaller and lighter gear.   Anglers can choose from braided lines with different numbers of carriers, coatings and the option for hollow or solid core.    The number of carriers is similar to thread count on sheets.  The higher the carrier count the softer and more supple the line is.  Generally speaking anglers will compromise some abrasion resistance with higher carrier count!   Hollow core lines are spliceable but they have slightly larger diameter and come at a higher cost compared to solid core braid.  Not sure what braid is best for your application J&B Tackle installs over 100,000 yards of braided line a year, so can answer any questions you may have!
